ROB ZOMBIE is currently on tour as support act for OZZY OSBOURNE in support of his long awaited album Zombie - Live. The Ozzy Osbourne/Rob Zombie tour kicked off on October 18th and will end on January 21st in Toronto, Ontario. Rob Zombie bass player Piggy D recently checked in with Boston-based writer Deb Rao to give BW&BK; the following tour update :

"The tour is going great," Piggy D comments. "The highlights are every night! Every show is special. I think we really have a lot of fun on our headline shows. We get to play longer, and take our time. We even took a request the other night. It's been way too much fun so far! It’s pretty crazy. You can roast hot dogs on the pyro. Bring a date and rock out with us. If you are going to sit down at any point in the show, just stay home. This is a mile-a-minute old school rock show. There are a lot of songs we kind of have to play. The set list changes on the headline gigs, again we get more time and get to pull out some more rare songs. We play an hour on the Ozzy gigs. Its an action packed hour, you get a lot for your money trust me! It's awesome! It’s a great package for people who want to see two big rock shows!"

Rao: Rob Zombie released, Zombie- Live on October 23. Tell me a little bit about the recording of this album?

Piggy D: "We recorded Zombie- Live on the last tour we did in the fall of 2007. There are 18 songs on it, even some old WHITE ZOMBIE stuff. This is the first live record that has been released, and we are all honored to be a part of it. The songs sound even more aggressive and heavy. It's not your parents live album. This is like a greatest hits album, but even louder and crazier! The fact that we were doing it was pretty exciting. I remember recording in Detroit in front of 20,000 crazy people. I knew this record was going to sound really amazing. The energy from the fans was unbelievable. It captures all that and more. It really makes you feel like you are right there. I haven't heard a live record this exciting since KISS Alive. Except, this one is actually live. 'Lords Of Salem' is always a good one. 'Black Sunshine' sounds awesome too. All the songs sound so different. There is a different energy there. They feel live, well, because they are!

How come the DVD will be released in 2008? Any date yet on that release?

Piggy D: "We ran out of time with the editing on the DVD. It will be worth the wait for sure. I think it comes out in the spring. You can expect the ultimate Zombie experience."

"Rob is the best front man I have ever played with," he closes. "He is really inspiring to be around, and always thinking of amazing stuff for us to do. The band is so professional and incredibly talented. We all get along great and really enjoy our time on stage and off."

BW&BK; is currently running a Rob Zombie Live contest where fans can win his entire catalog! Click here for details.
