Former DISCIPLES OF POWER Drummer Forms WARMARCH; New Album Out Now
December 6, 2007, 16 years ago
Drummer Dean Relf of DISCIPLES OF POWER fame has formed a new band called WARMARCH. The band's first full length CD entitled The Declaration is out now on UK-based Dissident Records. An excerpt from the band's bio reads as follows:
"After the demise of Canadian legends Disciples of Power, drummer Relf approached a like minded Paulus (guitar/vocals) to form a pact, being an admirer of the percussives that Relf had laid with his former project, and having now laid RITES OF THY DEGRINGOLADE to rest, all that was needed was a third party to perform the sub-octave bass fields. This is where it starts, and this is where it was to reign!!!
It was not a long or difficult choice, after many pilsner ales, E. Lampimaki (bass) was asked to join the duo. With his skills, dexterity and solid approach to the bass, it was not long before a three song demo was recorded and many live performances were executed.
The three song promo, which was raw and self recorded, was released by local label WBR, and all existing copies were sold and traded in the metal underworld within a very short time period. The following months saw many more live performances and a steady schedule of rehearsals. It would prove to be time well spent for the trinity.
Dissident records in England came into contact with Warmarch shortly after, and a deal was inked to release the full length album, The Declaration. Live performances will follow in support of The Declaration."
