Prleap.com has issued the following press release:
Ray Brown is the original rock music fashion designer. As Tony Iommi, guitarist of BLACK SABBATH, states, “Considering Ray only has one colour [black] to work with when designing my clothes, he is always able to come-up with interesting and adventurous pieces. For over 25 years Ray has been creating my outfits for both on and off stage, yet he is still able to produce new ideas and concepts.
Ray Brown is the genius behind garments created from “washable leather,” a fabric manufactured exclusively for his label. “The band BON JOVI has worked with designer and tailor Ray Brown since 1985. The quality and durability of his clothing has been excellent,” says Paul W. Korzilius, manager of Bon Jovi.
Mr. Brown is where cross and skull designs, lace-up leather pants and studded rock design originated. He “…has always been very creative,” said CHER.
To say he is creating his new line as a throwback to rock design would be saying he’s copying himself. “I highly recommend Ray Brown to any artist because of his craftsmanship and his ability to interpret my ideas in a cool way,” says Slash, of GUNS N’ ROSES and VELVET REVOLVER fame.
Ray Brown Classic, a refined, high-end women’s line was born out of the growth and evolution of Mr. Brown’s visions. With its roots solidly planted in rock n’ roll, any woman, no matter 20-60 years of age, will feel the edgy sophistication radiate as they slip into these luxury garments. June Pointer, of THE POINTER SISTERS said, “Ray Brown has been, and is one of the most exceptional wardrobe masters that I have ever had the privilege, and pleasure to work with.”
Recognizing his talents, the Australian Government Fashion Site has recently added Mr. Brown to their distinguished list of only 20 designers, which includes such talents as Pru Acton.
Ray Brown is the master craftsman of rock musician’s stage clothing who defined an era with his indestructible garments that would look as good at the start of a world-tour as they did at the end. His designs for monumental artists such as BLACK SABBATH, BON JOVI, POISON, MELISSA ETHERIDGE, BRIAN SETZER, METALLICA, STYX, JOHN MELLENCAMP, GUNS N’ ROSES, MÖTLEY CRÜE and countless others, have transcended generations and can be seen inspiring designers from Givenchy and Burberry to the everyday, screen printed t-shirt. He is the sole tailor to Judas Priest, one of the most recognizable and iconic bands to date. Ray Brown did not invent the metal stud, but the way in which he chose to use it is historical.
