AYREON mastermind Arjen Lucassen recently spoke to BW&BK; about his latest album, 01011001, and during the conversation he commented on his departure from STREAM OF PASSION in March 2007, the band he launched with vocalist Marcela Bovio in 2005. A month earlier, two live dates in England had to be scrapped due to problems with British immigration services. These events led to the misconception that there had been a fallout between Lucassen and the other band members. The following is an excerpt from the interview:

"I was never going to be a permanent member of the band," says Lucassen. "I was always going to go back to Ayreon. From the beginning the idea was that I was going to help set it up because I really like Marcela as a singer, but then it became a band and we were touring. It was big fun, but it came to a point where I wanted to start the next Ayreon record, and they understood that. I’ve heard some of the new stuff and it sounds great, so everything is going according to plan. So no, there’s no bad blood at all. It was a pity that the tour had to end the way it did, with the British customs thing, because it gave the impression that things had gone bad.”
