German metallers ATROCITY are counting down the release of their new cover album, Werk 80 II, due out on February 8th in Europe and March 4th in North America via Napalm Records. Click here to hear a sample of their cover of ALPHAVILLE's 'Forever Young'.

When asked why he chose to record 'Forever Young' frontman Alex Krull commented: "Well, which song would suit better to think back to your own youth and to express the destiny for eternal youth? Fortunately you can sing your heart out on that song because reality can be swift to catch up with you faster as you might think off, hahaha. I guess from now on we have to perform 'Forever Young' in our live-set until we pass out. The song at the same time is the perfect ending of the Werk 80 II, album.

He was then asked, 'The use of a choir and orchestra sounds brilliant here, what do you think?' and replied, "I just can agree to that, it fits perfectly. The cooperation with the choir and orchestra has given the required bathos to the music. Many of the pop and wavesongs from the eighties often suffer from the typical synth sounds, which maybe sounded modern and interesting in those days, but nowadays they sound quite odd and out of date. Anyway, the classical stuff in combination with the guitar work sound really great."

The tracklist for Werk 80 II is as follows: 'People Are People' (DEPECHE MODE), 'Smalltown Boy' (BRONSKI BEAT), 'Relax' (FRANKIE GOES TO HOLLYWOOD), 'Don't You (Forget About Me)' (SIMPLE MINDS), 'The Sun Always Shines On TV' (A-Ha), 'Hey Little Girl' (ICEHOUSE), 'Fade To Grey' (VISAGE), 'Such A Shame' (TALK TALK), 'Keine Heimat' (IDEAL), 'Here Comes The Rain Again' (EURYTHMICS), 'Forever Young' (ALPHAVILLE), Special Edition bonus track: 'Feels Like Heaven' (FICTION FACTORY).
