Exclusive: NIGHTWISH Christen China
January 21, 2008, 16 years ago
The Finnish phenom NIGHTWISH continues to notch new territories on its global headboard, scoring a rousing success at the MG Live House, in Beijing, China, the first date of three in the Communist Republic.
Following a morning photo-op at the Great Wall (cover of Kerrang and Metal Hammer UK in the offing), Nightwish
stormed through a frozen set. The venue is a large hanger type facility, with no heat. It was 14 degrees Celsius outside when they went on and not much warmer inside!
Despite that fact, the Finns delivered (in order): 'Bye Bye Beautiful', 'Cadence Of Her Last Breath', 'Dark Chest Of Wonders', 'Ever Dream', 'Whoever Brings The Night', 'Amaranth', 'The Islander', 'The Poet And The Pendulum', 'Sacrament Of The Wilderness', 'Sahara' and 'Nemo' to end the proper set, before returning for an encore consisting of '7 Days Of The Wolf', 'Wishmaster' and 'Wish I Had An Angel'.
Now it's off to Shanghai! Watch for a Chinese photo gallery on BraveWords.com next week.
Anticipated support for their North American return, in May, will come from SONIC SYNDICATE.
