According to a posting at LED ZEPPELIN fan-site Royal-Orleans.com, guitar legend Jimmy Page will be holding a press conference at Park Hyatt Hotel in Shinjyuku next Monday, January 28th. Park Hyatt is the hotel he stayed during ’96 PAGE & PLANT tour.
Led Zeppelin are strongly rumored to be hitting the road this fall - 50 shows for $500 million has been rumored by various online sources as the deal the band struck with the promoters involved. A "source" told BW&BK; this past October that a plethora of merchandise was currently in production in Asia for the tour.
The surviving members of Led Zeppelin - singer Robert Plant, guitarist JImmy Page and bassist/keyboardist John Paul Jones along with the late John Bonham's son Jason on drums - reunited in aid of the Ahmet Ertegun education fund for a show at The O2 in London on December 10th.
“I’m humbled by the way the people have responded,” Plant told the UK's Sun, “because there’s a billion people who’d like a hit at what they’d most like to do in life.”Another for the Zep tour delay? Plant hits the road with singer ALISON KRAUSS in April. The pair released the album Raising Sand late last year and it debuted at No. 2 on the Billboard Top 200 Albums Chart. It stands as the highest-charting and fastest-selling album in the history of issuing label Rounder Records.
