MOONSPELL guitarist Ricardo Amorim has checked in with the following update:

"I am truly proud to inform you all that soon I'll be owning my first real custom made guitar. This one of a kind piece is being forged in Finland under the attention of Amfisound which is a company devoted to custom guitar and bass conception.

Amfisound came to my atention during Moonspell's Baltic tour in late 2006, when I've noticed this very solid and well designed baritone guitar that belongs to EMBRAZEs guitarist Sami Siekkinen who, I forgot mention previously, were also on the tour, along with BEFORE THE DAWN. We talked about it and I heard very good things about Amfisound, things that really made my curiosity grow bigger. I checked their site, saw the models, read about their approach to some of the guitars they've built, and felt encouraged to get in touch with them. They're also expanding in the European metal scene having some respected guitarrists playing and expressing how happy are they with their axes so... something must be right.

May last year I got in touch and tried my luck with Amfisound. Their feedback couldn't have been more positive. Amfisound's main man and guitar luthier Tomi Korkalainen, not only he showed is warm and honest affection for Moonspell, but also said that would be a honor to build me a guitar and suggesting that I should have a signature one. I could I say no?

After a lot of brainstorming from both sides we came up with what will be the my first guitar. It will be a one of a kind Flying V shape and it will have everything I'll need to carry on with my playing and song writting. But I guess I'll let you know about more specifics details later.

What I really dig about Amfisound is the fact that their target is not to rule the guitar market, but to build instruments that satisfy each musician very own needs and demands. They can be personalized the way you want it to be and the only rule is that you have to sound good and feel confortable while playing. That's the greatest boost of inspiration and expression a guitarist can have.

To cut it fast, I'll leave you with a text written by Tomi himself explaing a bit how did he came up with such an amazing guitar. Some images of the building process also will be available, and I hope you can enjoy them as much as I am right now. In the meanwhile I'll be updating its progress to make sure you guys don't miss a single bit of it.

In the meanwhile you can always go to www.amfisound.fi and check their axes."
