AYREON Mastermind Arjen Lucassen: "The Outcome Of The Final Experiment Has Now Been Placed In Capable Hands"
January 31, 2008, 16 years ago
Imhotep Norway has issued a new interview with AYREON mastermind Arjen Lucassen in which he discusses the creation of the new 01011001 album, euthanasia, vocals and much more.
The following is an excerpt from the interview:
Q: At first, I'd like us to go back to the dark ages, dark ages.
A: "Ha!”
Q: Now 12 years have passed, you've released a few albums and the identity of Ayreon has fallen into place over the years. What did you envision when you did the excellent and my second favourite Ayreon album, The Final Experiment?
A: “Just to finally make an album that I liked myself for a 100%, without any concessions or compromises to band members and record companies. To everyone's surprise, including my own, people liked my weird music very well!"
Q: A bit one sided, but still I have to comment on the way you looked into the crystal ball, thinking that the Western societies slowly but without any real option have begun to consider the pollution and environment problems seriously. How do you view the focus now, thinking of that you tried to tell us that 12 years ago?
A: “The outcome of the Final Experiment has now been placed in capable hands!”
