Ian E. Highhill, frontman for Finland's OLYMPOS MONS, has posted his diary from the recording session for the band's latest album, Medievil, online. It is entitled The History Of Medievil - A Year Of Madness. An excerpt can be found below:

Fri.17.3 2006

5:00pm: "Just started my journey to Hämeenlinna. There´s been some road work and major changes on the highway so I´m a little unsure of the route."

6:30pm: "God damn it!!! I just arrived at Helsinki instead at the motorway to Hämeenlinna. I knew I should have made a turn earlier."

6:45pm: "At least, I´m happily out on the motorway to Hämeenlinna. Fortunately the weather is very dry and it´s not snowing so I´m able to keep up a good pace."

7:30pm: "I´m arriving at the Sound Supreme Studios just to find Jari and Mikko already quitting for the day. They´re also giving me the great news that they have recorded drum tracks for 5 songs that day (that´s great news, because time is always money hahha!!). The studio has moved to another place since the last time we were here. The new environment looks really cool, much cozier than before. We have our own space with a TV, playstation, fridge and even an old pinball machine in the corner of the room. The studio in itself is top class with pro tools, a 24 channel mixing console and Genelec 1031A speakers for the monitoring."

9:40pm: "We decided to check out the local nightlife. There´s a new rock club opening in town so I guess that´s what we´re heading for."

Go to this location for the complete diary.

Medievil was mixed by Janne Saksa at Sound Supreme Studios in Hämeenlinna and mastered at Finnvox Studios in Helsinki. The tracklisting: 'One Word', 'Frozen', 'The Emperors Return', 'The Price', 'Wolves', 'A Race Between Two Hearts', 'Fire And Ice', 'Medievil', 'Kingdom Of Winter', 'Locked In Chains', 'Dreamer'.
