THE GATHERING's A Noise Severe double-DVD and double-CD sets are in stores today (February 5th) in North America via The End Records.
This double-live CD, recorded during The Gathering’s South American Homelands tour, is the last release to feature singer Anneke van Giersbergen and showcases the band’s more rock-oriented music. The release helps us look back at a special period of the band’s history, as well as stands as the beginning of a new era.
The DVD was filmed in front of 4,000 fans at Teatro Caupolicán in Santiago, Chile. A Noise Severe is the heavier follow-up to The Gathering’s award-winning DVD, A Sound Relief. Both CD and DVD sets will be released in digi-pack format.
Says drummer Hans Rutten about the recording of the album and DVD: "There was an incredible noise the whole concert. The audience was superb. I think it's a very elegant way to end an era - with Anneke that is - and it gives strength to us and what the future will bring. I think the recordings speak for themselves. It's unique. It's a statement. It's something to be proud of."
The band released their latest album, Home, last April on The End Records.
CD/DVD tracks include: 'Shortest Day', 'In Between', 'Liberty Bell', 'Probably Built In The Fifties', 'Even The Spirits Are Afraid', 'Saturnine', 'Monsters', 'Alone', 'A Noise Severe', 'Leaves', 'Eléanor', 'In Motion #I', 'Waking Hour', 'On Most Surfaces', 'Strange Machines', 'Adrenaline', 'Third Chance', 'Black Light District', 'Travel'.
