According to an official press release BON JOVI will play a headline show on May 31st during the second day of Rock In Rio-Lisboa 2008, the legendary Rock In Rio's Portuguese event. They will play the World Stage.

Fans in Portugal have been waiting since 1995 for one of the world's greatest live bands to return to their shores and the magnificent, natural amphitheatre of Parque da Bela Vista will ensure a stunning setting for a triumphant return.

For more than two decades, Bon Jovi has set the bar as one of the most exciting, enduring and successful rock and roll bands in the world. They will be filling stadiums the world over in 2008, providing further proof of their position in the pantheon of rock legends.

Globally, they have sold more than 120 million albums and performed more than 2,500 concerts in over 50 countries to more than 32 million fans, and Jon Bon Jovi, Richie Sambora, David Bryan and Tico Torres have rocked them all!

Latest album, Lost Highway (released June 19th, 2007) gave the band the first #1 U.S. debut of their career on the Billboard 200, also debuting at #1 on Billboard's Rock Albums chart, Billboard's European Top 100 chart, in Canada, Germany, Switzerland, Holland, Austria, Thailand and Japan where their #1 chart debut gave them their 4th #1 career album - breaking the record which they shared with THE BEATLES, of three #1s.

Lost Highway includes twelve new songs influenced by the Nashville scene and is described by Jon Bon Jovi as "a look at the nature of love and life in all its glory." For Richie Sambora, it was a cathartic experience during some troubled times for the guitar hero: "There are tears throughout the album but there's also joy, hope and anticipation regarding what's to come when a new chapter in life begins."

Rock in Rio-Lisboa returns to Parque da Bela Vista, Lisbon, on May 30th and 31st to June 8th.
