When Troy Luccketta of the rock band TESLA asked TWISTED SISTER frontman Dee Snider to help put together the Phoenix Rising benefit concert for the victims of the Station nightclub fire, the directive was simple: “Use your big mouth.”

So that’s what Snider has done. Going everywhere from The Howard Stern Show to Good Morning America, Snider is shining light on Monday’s big show at the Dunkin’ Donuts Center in Providence, and helping it gain national exposure.

“People in that region have felt abandoned by their government and abandoned by the music industry,” said Snider, who has wanted to put together a benefit show since the first anniversary of the tragic blaze. “It’s horrible to be abandoned in your own back yard.”

Though Wednesday marked the fifth anniversary of the fourth-worst nightclub fire in U.S. history, Monday’s concert is about healing - and exposure.

With the help of others, Snider has enlisted Tom Scholz of BOSTON, Aaron Lewis of STAIND, STRYPER and Tesla, who lost longtime road crew member Jeff Rader in the fire (Rader was working for Great White at the time). Snider’s own Twisted Sister will, of course, perform, and - dropping the name Bret Michaels of POISON - Snider hints that heavy musical surprises may be on tap.

All of the artists will be performing live under the moniker - Phoenix Rising Musicians United To Benefit The Station Nightclub Fire Victims - on Monday, February 25th, 2008 at the Dunkin’ Donuts Center in Providence, Rhode Island.
