According to The RAINBOW Fanclan Legacy, vocalist Doogie White and YNGWIE MALMSTEEN have decided to part company after six and a half years together. Doogie joined the band in September 2001 and recorded two albums: Attack and Unleash the Fury.

"I had a long chat with Yngwie today and it is clear that he wants to move musically in a new direction. It's great news that he will be expanding on his undoubted talents both as a writer and guitarist. I just want to thank, publicly, Yngwie and the many band members past and present that I have worked with. It seems appropriate that we started our working relationship in South America in September 2001 and finished in South America in December 2007. Now anyone need a singer??"

In other news, the following Doogie White update has been posted at his official website:

Doogie will be taking part in this years Classics In Rock at the Ahoy in Rotterdam on Saturday April 12th. "The idea is that singers gather in their masses and sing their hits with a great band and orchestra, I don't have any hits so I am going to be singing a couple of songs from SIUA and possibly a duet with JOE LYNN TURNER. It is sure to be a great night of RAWK with a fine selection of singers from different genres" adds Mr White.

Negotiations are underway for Doogie to play a show in Sofia, Bulgaria at the beginning of April. More news on this when we get it.

Doogie spent an afternoon in Chiswick with Walter Giardino, guitarist with Argentine metallers RATA BLANCA. So after a beer or two Walter and Doogie agreed to Doogie singing with the band in Barcelona on Sat 19th April at the Bikini Club. "Walter was taking a long weekend and so we hooked up. I have played the Bikini a few times with Yngwie and of course played in Madrid with Rata Blanca on their last tour so I am looking forward to doing it all again."

Recently Doogie did a show with keyboard player VITALIJ KUPRIJ in Rome. "I had a splendid time in Rome and the band were great. I had to sing a RING OF FIRE tune and one by ARTENSION. Tough songs sung originally by two great singers Mark Boals and John West. We finished up with 'Hall Of The Mountain King'. All in all a night to remember. I am looking at getting a show in Rome later this year".
