OLD FOREST - First EP In Trilogy Now Available
March 24, 2008, 16 years ago
BW&BK; has received the following press release:
Formed in 1998, OLD FOREST's previous release (the debut Into The Old Forest) was released in 2000, and cemented the group's statuts as a cult black metal band, due to it's raw and unpolished mid-paced ambient black metal which was completely misunderstood by each and every reviewer (gaining the much-coveted 1/10 in Terrorizer magazine) yet becoming a favourite of true fans of the genre. A second album was recorded but never released.
In 2008, Old Forest reformed with all original members (Kobold - synth / vox, Beleth - guitars, Grond - drums) . They have set about recording an EP trilogy of new material detailing the myths and legends of the Sussex Weald (also known as 'Andredweald' or 'The Forest of Anderida'), which had partly inspired their earlier material.
Tales of the Sussex Weald: Part 1 (The Legend of the Devil's Dyke) is now available exclusively through anti-record label Death To Music Productions as a five track mini-CD.
The release is strictly limited to 222 copies only. The first 100 of which will come with a limited edition 24 page booklet (European orders only, due to postage expenses), compiled by band member Kobold, which details the myth as well as futher information about the other places mentioned on the CD.
The price is £6.66 (approx. $13.50 / €8.70) - which includes postage and packing worldwide.
Tracklisting: 'Cocks Crowing At Poynings', 'The Devil's Dyke', 'Chanctonbury Ring', 'The 'Bury', 'The Witch Of Ditchling'.
