MEGADETH Bassist James Lomenzo - "We're Really Excited To Be Coming Back With Gigantour Again"
April 12, 2008, 16 years ago
MEGADETH bassist James Lomenzo has issued the following update:
"Welcome to Gigantour (U.S./Canada) #3, my second as bassist of Megadeth. My "stoke-ism" is really starting to redline.I hope that that you guys are just as excited as we are (judging by early pre-sales reports, you are). Not to much hype here, really... just great metal bands at the zenith of their craft.
I'm looking forward to checking out the CHILDREN OF BODOM, a band that I've been a fan of since their last album Bloodrunk. Great melodic classic heavy metal as only a band from Finland can provide. "In Flames" probably need no introduction to Metal heads but I have to say I'm psyched to see them. They've got that special energy and aggression that I totally vibe on... 'Take This Life'... great track! Our good friends, JOB FOR A COWBOY are back here with us, fresh from our European run. Great to have them on board again. ...and finally, the three piece assault of HIGH ON FIRE, a band that I'm very interested to hear live. I've always been a fan of three-piece metal/rock bands. They seem like they've got that possibility of becoming a classic band in their own right.
As for Megadeth? We've just finished doing a few days, setting up the production here at the Fillmore in Colorado and everything is humming (in a good way). The staff here at the Fillmore has been really great to our crew and ourselves (many thanks) and the band is of course is completely stoked. We're really excited to be coming back with Gigantour again and for you American and Canadian fans, to finally check out our good friend Chris Broderick as our newest addition to the Megadeth lineup. You've already heard and read about it so come on out and check him out on this tour... great guitar player!
What else... OK soon, I'll be unveiling my new bass distortion pedal from Ashdown. The LoMenzo Hyper Drive. They're already available in Europe and soon they'll be available in the States and Canada. I'll be sure to make an announcement and a link here at the site to let you know how and where to get one, maybe we'll even have a contest for a "free-be". The production model is spot on to what I wanted it to be. In fact, I'm using one nightly in my stage rig. Killer! (if I do say so myself).
Look forward to seeing you all out there..."
