RUSH news site Power Windows reports:

"It's been over four years since Alex Lifeson's 2003 New Year's Eve altercation with the Naples, Florida sheriff's department. Lifeson's suit against the department and the hotel was thrown out in April last year, when a district court judge ruled the department had acted accordingly.

An appeals court has recently reinstated claims seeking damages against Alex's son, Justin. However, the appeals court has upheld the previous ruling which cleared the deputies, meaning Alex has lost.

Lifeson's lawyer has 15 days to appeal the ruling to the Supreme Court.
