SALEM Drummer Goes Surfin'! 'Wipe Out' Cover Available

According to the Israeli's website, "Nir Nakav, SALEM's drummer, has uplaoded to his personal MySpace page his own unique version of one of the first drum hits of the '60s 'Wipe Out' (originally recorded by THE SURFARIS and written in a flash by their drummer Ron Wilson). Nir's version says hello to other great tracks that influenced Nir in his lifetime so look out for bits of Bonham's (LED ZEPPELIN) 'Rock And Roll', DEFTONES' Around the Fur, TOTO's Rosanna, SLAYER and CARCASS. Spoken word is provided by Nir's son, Haim (4.5 years old). On guitar and bass; Guy Be'er who is well known in Israel as the guitar player of the platinum selling act HAYEHUDIM (The Jews). Guitars and bass were recorded by Daniel Brecher (the other guitar player of Hayehudim while the drum track was recorded as one take during a session in Rimon's studio. Rimon is a prestigious college for music in Israel out of which many national artists graduated in recent years. Guy and Nir are on the staff in Rimon, teaching the new generation of players the pleasures of metal."
