On June 23rd, one night before the release of ZZ TOP's first ever live DVD Live From Texas on Eagle Rock Entertainment, the band returned to their hometown to give fans a sneak peek of the live DVD during a special event honoring the band at the Hard Rock Cafe Houston. The entire evening benefited Child Advocates, Inc., a charity dedicated to breaking the vicious cycle of child abuse. Fans flew in from around the world to get a glimpse of the highly anticipated live DVD and to enjoy the comedy of the band as they donated their fuzzy guitars from the 'Legs' video to the Hard Rock Café Houston's new memorabilia collection.
The Hard Rock Cafe and Eagle Rock Entertainment capitalized on the opportunity by setting up a free profile on Woozyfly.com to broadcast the event live to ZZ Top fans worldwide. The live broadcast was viewed by almost 35,000 fans on the site and streamed on the big screen televisions at various Hard Rock Cafes around the nation.
Woozyfly's resident metalhead Buckshot added his rocker touch to the broadcast with red carpet coverage and a raucous interview with the members of the band after their memorabilia presentation.
