DEEP PURPLE keyboard legend Don Airey's recently announced European tour in support of his new album A Light In The Sky, has been official cancelled "due to his busy touring schedule with Deep Purple," according to a press release.

A Light In The Sky was released by Mascot Records in Europe this past February. Musically speaking, the album is fittingly rich and diverse. “What I had in mind was making something that sounded like a cross between RAINBOW, THE MAHAVISHNU ORCHESTRA and JEAN-MICHEL JARRE,” Airey commented recently. “There was no point in making some generic hard rock album. Probably my favourite of its tracks is ‘Light In The Sky’, which dates back to my days with COLOSSEUM II [during the late 1970s]”.
