MEGADETH - MegaFanClub Issues Review From Affliction Banned Event
July 23, 2008, 16 years ago
Affliction Entertainment made MMA history on July 19th at Honda Center in Anaheim, CA with the greatest line-up of mixed-martial-arts fights ever presented in one night. MEGADETH performed live at the event.
Megadeth''s website has been updated with the following from MegaFanClub member Cairn Goldsmith:
"Affliction Banned held a spectacular event of mixed martial arts, and the greatest band alive, Megadeth! There were a few "warm up" matches, then when the crowd was a little entertained, Megadeth came on at 6 PM and played 'Symphony Of Destruction'. The entire Stadium went crazy for them, especially us in the pit! Hair was whipping up and down everywhere around me! I was in the front row in the pit, about 6-10 feet away from Mr. Mustaine, and loved every moment of it! And as they were playing, the men started coming out, and headed down the ramp to the ring. After the song was over, the men headed back, waiting for their turn to shine, and the crowd was more energetic and excited than ever!A few matches had passed, and then Megadeth played 'Tornado Of Souls', which truly was a perfect pick. Once again, the MegaFans in the pit were going crazy and were soaking every second of this tasty treat. Right before the Royal Rumble, Megadeth played 'Holy Wars' for the last song, and this by far was the BEST song, and everyone again, was just out of control! Dave thanked us, and then turned the attention to the Rumble.
The match was supposed to last five rounds, but in fact lasted only thirty six seconds! Truly was an amazing match, the best match of the evening.
First of all, I would just like to thank Dave, the Megadeth Webmaster for giving me the opportunity to experience all this, Tracey for creating such a great experience for the MegaFans, and the fans of Affliction, and the MegaFanClub for giving us fans a chance to be so close to the band, in a pit where we could actually enjoy the show up close and personal, and not fight to stay in the best spot possible (me, six feet from Dave) ^_^
I had such a great time, and my friend and I will never forget how much fun we had, and the people we met, and bonded with in the pit. Thanks so much, and thank you Megadeth for this great opportunity, you guys truly put on a great show!
