Special Report from Deb Rao:
MÖTLEY CRÜE Bassist Nikki Sixx has checked in from Crüe Fest with the following exclusive update for BraveWords.com:
Q: Nikki, how does it feel to be performing to a whole new generation of rock fans at Crüe Fest? You are currently on the road performing double duty with Mötley Crüe and SIXX A.M. What has the highlight been for you so far at Crüe Fest?
A: "I'm very grateful to see so many new fans as well as long time fans at our shows. Not only am I seeing a new audience with Mötley Crüe but Sixx A.M. has a very young fan base.
The fact that we are still able to connect to so many people over the years is something we can't explain. We hope in our hearts it's about the music. I know from my own experience that bands I used to like I've re-discovered through other people getting into them for the first time... then you realize how much you loved them, then you see they are on tour and next thing you know you're front row at Crüe Fest having the time of your life.
Life is really good. We have no problems, no worries, and love what we do. We owe it to the fans and to the people who have supported us for years and years who work in the background and never get credit. Guys like Allen Kovack, who is a visionary and believer in the impossible. He believes in Mötley Crüe, and he knows the struggle the band has with authority and knows how to get us not to empty the clip every single time.
Sometimes it only takes one bullet to put the non-believers out of their misery. In the end, we're a gang. He's a marketing company. Fits like a glove. Should be illegal to be this happy with all that we are achieving. Hard work, hard fucking work... We're not lazy, that's one thing you will never hear about Mötley Crüe."
Mötley Crüe will perform in a live global concert on Friday, August 1st, 2008, from the Mandalay Bay in Las Vegas. The groundbreaking event will be available live online, free of charge, compliments of DeepRockDrive.com and Mötley Crüe, to anyone with broadband Internet access.
