STEEL ASSASSIN guitarist Mike Mooney has issued a statement in regards to the band's upcoming dates joining Boston thrashers WARGASM while they celebrate the 20th anniversary of the release of their classic Why Play Around? album by playing the following reunion shows:

September

13 - Middle East - Cambridge, MA (with STEEL ASSASSIN, RAW RADAR WAR)
19 - Club Hell - Providence, RI (with Steel Assassin, TBA)

Says Mike Mooney, "We simply could not be more excited to finally share a stage with our long time friends and brothers in arms, Wargasm, this is going to be a dream show for us.

Twenty years ago when WPA was released and Gasm was beginning their ascension as Kings of the Boston metal scene, we had already all moved on from SA and therefore never got to play live with these guys, so now in our resurgence, we are thrilled for this opportunity. For us this show is 20 years overdue and we are quite humbled to be asked to be part of this momentous occasion, it’s going to feel like coming full circle. This night will surely standout in the annals of Boston metal history!"

Steel Assassin is now in the early stages of writing for their 2nd full length album rumored to be based on events surrounding WWII and are still playing live in the USA and abroad in support of their 2007 release War Of The Eight Saints, which incidentally was produced by Wargasm guitarist Rich Spillberg.
