hot flashes news stygia

Guitarist Todd Seitz from Boston-based progressive metallers STYGIA has issued the following update:

"Hello!

I have some small updates on the recording process. I'm in between recording guitar tracks and finishing up some classes at Berklee. Things are quite hectic, but calming down a bit. The guitar tone is sounding really cool. I'm using a Metaltronix M-1000 for rhythm guitars. It's a more rare and vintage tone, but still heavy and harmonic.

I'm about to get Mike Vescera a few tracks to start recording vocals. I've written rough melodies in which Mike will improve or fine tune what I've done.

Mike LePond has also started to learn a few tracks. He played just a small sample on the phone and it sounded awesome. Bass shred madness. I'm excited to be making progress and hope to have the guitar tracks done pretty soon.

The album will be called Divine Allegiance. There will also be a 15 - 16 minute epic track with the same title. I've decided to do a total of nine songs instead of eight.

Macaluso was nice enough to record the last song on very short notice. It ended up sounding quite bad ass. Some wicked blast beats... ha ha Drummers be prepared!

More news soon! Stay tuned!"

The recording lineup joining guitarist Todd Seitz for the Stygia debut now includes: vocalist Mike Vescera (ex-Yngwie Malmsteen, LOUDNESS, OBSESSION), keyboardist Michael Pinella (Symphony X), bassist Michael LePond (Symphony X), drummer John Macaluso (ex-Yngwie Malmsteen, Ark, TNT) and guest guitarist Hank Shermann (MERCYFUL FATE, FORCE OF EVIL).
