According to News.com.au, a star-studded line-up of local and international artists will stage a tribute concert to AC/DC at this year's Adelaide International Guitar Festival.

The AC/DC We Salute You concert will close the festival on December 7 with main-stage acts performing their favorite AC/DC songs.

Two former band members will be among about 30 musicians at Elder Park to celebrate the iconic Australian rock band.

Original vocalist Dave Evans is travelling from his home in Texas, in the United States, and early bass player Mark Evans from Sydney.

Late AC/DC frontman Bon Scott replaced Dave Evans in 1974.

Unlike AC/DC founding brothers Malcolm and Angus Young, Dave and Mark Evans are not related.

The full program for the second Guitar Festival will be announced at Adelaide Festival Centre today.

Executive producer Christine Schloithe said organisers were feeling positive despite last year's $1 million deficit, attributed in part to the federal election taking place on the festival's opening weekend.

She said participating artists and the public were enthusiastic in their feedback.

"We've taken a lot of the feedback on board," Ms Schloithe said.

"We've done some tweaking and returned with a program that's really broad and accessible, with lots of names people will know."

More than 120 artists will take part in performances in and around the Festival Centre over the nine days of the festival.

Five concerts will be staged in Elder Park, including a free "blockbuster" opening event on November 29. There will be a large acoustic program and late-night jam sessions in the Piano Bar.

Guitar Festival tickets will be on sale at Bass from 9am tomorrow.

AC/DC performs 'For Those About To Rock ... We Salute You' live at Donnington in 1991.
