JUDAS PRIEST guitar legend Glenn Tipton spoke to David Glessner from Mysanantonio.com recently about a number of topics including the band's new album, Nostradamus.

“We've never been a band that does the expected,” Tipton comments. “If you look back on albums like Point Of Entry or Turbo and then compare them to Painkiller, Screaming For Vengeance or British Steel, every one's been different. You can call us brave or stupid, but we're willing to experiment. You may not always get what you expect, but at the same time, on every album, there's a selection of songs that every Priest fan loves.”

Cinematic in scope, operatic in sound and expansive in its double-disc presentation, Nostradamus, finds Priest holstering the fiery guitar duels in order to explore a more ambient, synthesized sound.

“We want people to try to listen to it in the same way we wrote it,” Tipton said. “It's not a one- or two-track album, it's a whole event. It's the world of Nostradamus and you have to step into it. Create some time to listen to it and you'll experience the rewards.

“It's the sort of album that when you listen to it the first time you may overlook certain aspects, which may eventually become your favorite parts of the album. You just have to give it time.”
