BLACK LABEL SOCIEY's John "JD" Deservio Comments On Upcoming Bass Clinic Tour
September 15, 2008, 16 years ago
As previously reported, bassist John "JD" Deservio of BLACK LABEL SOCIETY and new personal project CYCLE OF PAIN on Reform Records, is performing a free clinic tour for Sam Ash and Daddy’s Junky Music stores.
JD DeServio will be demonstrating his innovative techniques on the revolutionary new Hartke HyDrive bass cabinets, as well as the Hartke LH bass amplifiers. Hartke will give away a free Bass Attack Pedal at every performance, and every attendee can enter to win a free HyDrive 810 cabinet and LH1000 head! This HyDrive rig, valued at over $2,000, will be given away at the end of the clinic tour.
John "JD" Deservio caught up with Deb Rao for an exclusive update for the kick-off of the first leg of the Northeast tour which is slated to begin in New England on Monday September 15 in Portland, Maine at Daddy's Junky Music and will also make a special stop in Boston at Daddy's Junky Music on Mass Ave on Wednesday September 17 near Berklee School Of Music where JD attended the World famous music school in the late 80's.
Q: What can the fans look forward to learning at your clinic?
JD: "I'm just jammin with a drum machine, and some friends if they're around! I worked out a few things by myself and lots of bass stuff and you can hear me babble on for minutes on end!"
Q: You performed with so many great musicians. What is the most important thing that you hope to teach the musicians at your clinic?
JD: "To listen to as much music as possible, as many different styles, and to jam with as many people as possible. You can learn something from everybody!"
Q: You also will be returning to Boston, your old stomping grounds for a clinic at Daddy's Junky Music Store on Wednesday September 17. Tell us about your time at Berklee School of Music, which is right near your clinic at Daddy's Junky Music on Mass Ave in Boston.
JD: "I really loved my time at Berklee. It opened me up to all kinds of music and culture. It was life changing!"
