news life in black

2009 installment of the Inferno Festival will take place in Oslo, Norway from April 8th - 11th at the following venues: Rockefeller, John Dee, Sentrum Scene, Garage, Rock In and Blå. 40 artists will appear at the event in total. CARPATHIAN FOREST, KEEP OF KALESSIN are the first acts confirmed. Organizers have issued the following update:

"In 2008 we expanded the Inferno Festival with a fourth day - the club night. We collaborated with some of Oslo's most outstanding club venues – all because we wanted to give the metalheads an opportunity to explore bands and clubs all over the city. This turned out to be so much extra work and expenses for us that we decided to keep it up – so Inferno 2009 will again be four glorious days full of music.

Next year – a new venue: Victoria (National jazz venue).

Victoria scene might be totally unknown for the average rock and/or metal fan, but this place has been one of Oslo’s most important cultural institutions for the last 100+ years, being used as a theatre, cinema and now music venue. With its dark, gothic walls, private balconettes giving you an amazing view of the stage, and the brand new exquisite sound system providing crystal clear and massive sound this might prove to be the most promising club venue next year.

The Inferno club night: 6 venues all over Oslo - Wednesday, April 8. Thursday, April 9 to Saturday, April 11 the Inferno Festival will take place at Rockefeller and John Dee as usual. The club night is included with an Inferno Festival pass – if you only want club passes they sell for NOK 200 (limited number of tickets!).

We will announce two more bands on October 1st – the full lineup will as always be revealed at our kickoff party at John Dee, next year which is set for Saturday, February 7th."
