ROBERT PLANT, ALISON KRAUSS Top Winners At Americana Awards

According to Calvin Gilbert from CMT,

ALISON KRAUSS and ROBERT PLANT took top honors Thursday night (September 18) at the Americana Music Association’s seventh annual Honors and Awards at Nashville’s Ryman Auditorium. Both were present to accept their trophies, and Plant joined the awards show’s bandleader, Buddy Miller, onstage to sing a new song which will be featured on Miller’s upcoming album.

Alison Krauss and Robert Plant won Album Of The Year (for Raising Sand) and Duo/Group of the Year.

As the final recognition of the evening, the AMA honored the late JERRY GARCIA with the organization’s President’s Award. The awards show ended on an appropriate note with Helm, Hiatt, Miller, Campbell, awards show host Jim Lauderdale and others performing THE GRATEFUL DEAD’s 'Tennessee Jed'.
