It seems that it is not only Bill Clinton and Tony Blair among world leading figures who have harboured a secret life as accomplished musicians – Clinton was a gifted saxophonist, while Blair favoured the electric guitar.

Current among today’s leaders who also enjoy time out behind of a musical instrument is Latvia’s Prime Minister Ivars Godmanis whose secret was outed yesterday at a meeting taken with rock band QUEEN & PAUL RODGERS who are in Riga, Latvia for a concert tonight as part of their 33 date European tour.

Prime Minister Godmanis had invited the band to his official offices yesterday to welcome them to his country but also, it became obvious, to converse on one of his favourite subjects – rock music.

Prime Minister Godmanis, now serving his second term as the country’s leader, further revealed during the encounter that as a hobby he relaxes by beating out his favourite rock rhythms on his personal drum kit.

The unlikely outcome of this official meeting is that Prime Minister Godmanis will tonight take over Roger Taylor’s famed Queen drum kit at tonight’s Riga Arena concert for a performance with the band of singer Paul Rodger’s classic hit, 'All Right Now' (FREE).
