Guitarist Todd Seitz from Boston-based progressive metallers STYGIA has issued the following update:

"Mike LePond of SYMPHONY X finished recording his bass tracks earlier this week. I couldn't be happier with his work! The bass tracks are totally killer. I have to send out a big thanks to Michael Romeo for taking the time to record LePond. Some intense tracks!

I'd say the album is more than half way done. Next will be keyboards, then to the vocal tracks and guitar solos.

More news soon!"

As previously reported, Stygia's new album will be called Divine Allegiance.

The recording lineup joining guitarist Todd Seitz for the Stygia debut includes: vocalist Mike Vescera (ex-YNGWIE MALMSTEEN, LOUDNESS, OBSESSION), keyboardist Michael Pinella (Symphony X), bassist Michael LePond (Symphony X), drummer John Macaluso (ex-Yngwie Malmsteen, Ark, TNT) and guest guitarist Hank Shermann (MERCYFUL FATE, FORCE OF EVIL).
