MIdland rock star BLAZE BAYLEY has said his last goodbyes to his beloved wife. Debbie Hartland, the wife of the Tamworth-based former IRON MAIDEN and WOLFSBANE lead singer, died on September 27, aged just 38.

Her funeral was held on Tuesday at St Paul’s Church at Dosthill, Tamworth, followed by a committal at Sutton Coldfield Crematorium.

On his website, heartbroken Bayley, whose real name is Bayley Alexander Cook, said: “Debbie Hartland – my wife, my love, my life, my inspiration. Now there is another angel in heaven.”

The couple married on Valentine’s Day last year in Gran Canaria.

Bur Debbie had a stroke two days before she died. She ran her own hair dressing business and was Bayley’s manager.

He credited her for lifting him during his darkest days when he had no record deal.

And she was the main influence for his comeback album with the Blaze Bayley band, The Man Who Would Not Die, released earlier this year.

Debbie’s family set up a page on the Lasting Tribute website for people to pay their respects.

Her parents said: “The happiness and joy you gave us daily, will be missed so much, but our love and memories of you will never go away.”

Larry Paterson, from the Blaze Bayley band, said: “Blaze has lost his wife, her family have lost a daughter and sister, the band has lost its manager and we have all lost a very good friend.”
