Greek melodic metal outfit FIREWIND have just returned home from a very successful UK and Ireland tour. Guitarist / mainman, Gus G. reports:

"So, we’re back from our UK tour! This was a very smooth nine date run for us and we are very happy how the whole thing went down! To start with, we had two killer bands with us: Kiuas and Dear Superstar. All very nice guys and good live bands! Our crew was top notch and amazing people. So if the foundation is right, the rest can only be a piece of cake, right? Well, actually our feelings were mixed up. Stressed and excited. We didn’t know what to expect, as this is only the 2nd time we were headlining in the UK and visited many of these places for the first time. We didn’t know if anyone would turn up for these gigs…

But we were in for a surprise. All shows were packed with our crazy fans (some sold out) and you guys have proven that the UK has some of the most hardcore Firewind fans, if not THE most hardcore! If you ask me for highlights I don’t know what to choose from. Nottingham and Glasgow were insane as always, Dublin has a special place in our hearts after such a warm welcome on our debut show, Manchester, Leeds and Wolverhampton were louder than hell, London was stressy but beautiful as always and Milton Keynes and Peterborough were great to wrap it up even though we felt we just started getting on fire! Cheers to all of you!

Firewind’s European headlining tour will be kicking off in early November and promises a live feast for all metal gourmets. A brand-new European tour trailer can be watched below.

Furthermore, Firewind will release their first DVD Live Premonition in November offering a stunning 22-song set filmed earlier this year as well as many extras. The live set will also be available as specially priced 2CD, stay tuned for more info on that!

On the DVD Gus G. states:

“Lots of fans have been asking us since 2006 when we will release a DVD. Well, finally the timing was right and it's now ready for release within the next month. It's something we have been looking forward to for a long time. We have worked very hard on this project and I believe all our fans will be pleased.

We believe it's as close as it can get to the ultimate Firewind package: A full on 100 minute show where we perform 80% of the latest album live (!) alongside a “best of” setlist from all our past albums. The show is filmed professionally in HD with a 9 camera crew and killer sound!

I'm happy we recorded that specific show as it was a really magical night. And I'm glad it happened in our hometown, Thessaloniki. We're very proud and honored that our fans will get a chance to see what it's like when Firewind plays in Greece!
