As previously reported, Roadrunner Records has announced an October 27th (UK)/28th (North American) release date for the two-CD/DVD special edition of MACHINE HEAD's The Blackening. View a trailer below:

Disc one will contain the same eight songs that were featured on the initial release of The Blackening in 2007.

Disc two is a b-sides and rarities bonus disc spanning the years 1994-2008. It features the following 13 songs: 'Hallowed Be Thy Name' (IRON MAIDEN cover), 'Alan's On Fire' (POISON IDEA cover), 'Negative Creep' (NIRVANA cover), 'Seasons Wither', 'My Misery', 'House Of Suffering' (BAD BRAINS cover), 'The Possibility Of Life's Destruction' (DISCHARGE cover), 'Ten Ton Hammer' (extended original mix), 'Hole In The Sky' (BLACK SABBATH cover), 'Colors' (ICE-T cover), 'Hard Times' - live in New York (CRO-MAGS cover), 'Halo (I Want Your Soul) - demo, 'Aesthetics Of Hate' - Thrash-terpiece demo.

The bonus DVD showcases 11 live performances and three uncensored/unedited videos: 'Halo', 'Now I Lay Thee Down' and 'Aesthetics Of Hate' as well as a "making of" feature for each video.
