October 28, 2008, 16 years ago
UK-based all-female act McQUEEN will play a one-off show at the Whisky A Go Go in West Hollywood, CA on November 15th. More details will be revealed soon. For information on the band go to this location.
As previously reported, McQueen issued a blog back in August stating the band was seeking a new bassist. The search continues, the original blod is below:
"We're looking for a talented and inspiring female bassist...Here's the lowdown: WE WILL ACCEPT APPLICATIONS FROM UK, USA, CANADA, AUSTRALIA & NEW ZEALAND!
Preferably, we want you to be over 21 years old (so you can drink in the USA!) but if you are younger and feel you have the talent and can prove it - we want to hear from you!
You MUST BE experienced with both live performance and preferably recorded also.
You will need to know your equipment and how to get a great sound out of an amp.
We only want to hear from serious musicians who can fully commit to McQueen.
We don't want to hear from anyone with drug problems, alcohol problems, mental problems or attitude problems. We only want to hear from roadworthy, reliable professionals with a great sense of humour, who want to work hard but HAVE FUN doing it.
So, if you are up for a challenge email: mcqueenauditions@yahoo.com with BASSIST in the subject field and attach the following information...
1. Link to your MySpace page or any links where we can hear samples of your playing/photos of yourself playing.
2. Your age and where you are based.
3. Your experience (how long have you been playing, previous bands, live experience, size of audience)
4. What bass do you play and what amp do use?
5. Your top 3 bands of all time and why?
6. Your favourite bassist and why?
7. Why do you want to be in McQueen and what do you think you could bring to McQueen?
8. What are your current commitments?
9. What is your ultimate goal in life?
10. Please include any questions you have about the position... and attach a photo of you playing bass.
