AC/DC - Bon Scott Docudrama Set To Launch Crowdfunding Campaign

Fans of Bon Scott and AC/DC across the globe have been awaiting a much-anticipated docudrama about the late Australian rock icon who died tragically back in early 1980 after a night of hard drinking, and will have an opportunity to personally contribute to the project.

Following in the footsteps of directors like Rob Zombie and successful crowdfunded film ventures like, Veronica Mars, High Voltage Productions, LLC. in Charleston, South Carolina, have announced that they will launch a crowdfunding campaign in the near future to assist with the funding of Bon Scott - The Legend of AC/DC.

Actor, Rob Liotti, who is slated to portray Scott and who also penned the script, has been working on the project for the last three years with his team and sees the crowdfunding option as “a viable avenue to circumvent what is an arduous and often ridiculous uphill grind to obtain funding,” he commented.

Liotti said, “I am no hater of Hollywood by any means, but when you simply scroll through Nextfix and see all the total garbage that is made, it does make one ask themselves, ‘how the hell did that get made?’ When you have a project as unique as the Bon Scott docudrama on the table for production entities, you have to wonder how good a concept has to be to get made. It doesn’t get much better, really, but by all means, let’s do another worn out horror concept. The bigger companies appear to like what is easy, and if you are not in the club, you face an incredible climb. This is why even A-List talent take to independent funding - and it is abundantly clear why!”

What people may not know about the current state of the project is that a multi-Emmy Winning Director of Photography has expressed interest in shooting the film along with Emmy Winning Cinematographer John Barnhardt. There have also been a number of seasoned directors who have expressed interest in taking part in the project according to HVP.
