Swedish metallers, Amon Amarth, are the first act confirmed for Woodstock Festival Poland 2017, scheduled for August 3rd - 5th.

Woodstock Festival Poland is a massive, free open-air festival. This year's 23rd edition of the festival is organized by a Polish medical charity, and the event is a way of expressing gratitude to the supporters of the cause and volunteers.The festival promotes mottoes of love, friendship, tolerance, and social conscience.

Drummer Jocke Wallgren, who has been on board Amon Amarth's current Jomsviking world tour as a session player, has now been confirmed as the band's permanent drummer. They have issued the following statement:

"We are happy to have Jocke with us as a permanent band member. He has done a great job for us on the current world tour, bringing excellent drumming with a positive attitude and great personality, something that will definitely benefit Amon Amarth for years to come."

Jocke: "I'm super excited to jump aboard the unstoppable Amon Amarth longship. My predecessors have inspired me greatly throughout the years and I will do my best to honor the legacy that is Amon Amarth."

Back in March, Amon Amarth announced that Jocke Wallgren (October Tide) would be joining them as drummer for their upcoming tours. Wallgren’s debut with the band took place on March 22nd at the Underworld in London, England.
