ANTHRAX Bassist Frank Bello On New Album - “We Just Want To Make Sure We Have The Right Record, And We Think We Do Now”; Audio

Armored Saint’s John Bush and Anthrax’s Frank Bello guest on Episode #149 of One On One With Mitch Lafon.

John discusses the new Armored Saint album Win Hands Down, his time in Anthrax, his current relationship with the members of Anthrax, the possibility of a John Bush solo album, voiceover work and much more.

Frank talks about the new Anthrax album making it to the mixing stage, his recent car accident, having Fire In The Belly, their upcoming tours with Motörhead and later this year with Slayer, the John Bush era of the band and much more.

Anthrax guitarist Scott Ian's assessment of Anthrax's new album - which the band is currently finishing up as the follow-up to 2011's Worship Music - is unapologetically straightforward.

"It sounds great, and when you hear it you can formulate your own opinion," Ian tells Billboard. "We just do what we do. We write songs, and when we think we're ready to go in, we record them. It's just a case of knowing when we're ready and feeling right, and at the same time knowing when we're done. It's like an artist doing a painting: He or she has to know when to stop painting."

Anthrax are expected to release the new album in early-2016 via Megaforce Records.

In this in-studio clip, Frank Bello talks about Anthrax's writing and recording process, Charlie Benante gets into the pressure that Anthrax has felt with this new project and gives his thoughts about why the new album is "the next level" for Anthrax, and Scott Ian explains why the band recorded the 18 new songs in batches.

Anthrax will be hitting the road late-summer-into-fall, playing major US festivals, a series of North American dates with Motörhead, including Motörhead's Motorboat cruise, and then dates in Japan and Europe, many with Slayer.  The full itinerary is below.
