APHYXION To Play Live At Public Schools To Teach Students About Music
June 25, 2015, 9 years ago
Danish melodic death metal band, Aphyxion, will play live at several public schools for 8th and 9th grade students in a nationwide school project in co-operation with LMS (Living Music in the School)
The LMS-organisation has hired Aphyxion for a nationwide school project, where melodic death metal is introduced to 8th and 9th grade students. LMS seeks to expand the musical horizons of the students at the public schools, and this is why Aphyxion was asked to perform with equal parts live death metal show and educational material in work shops. The educational material includes lyrical analysis and focus on the band as entrepreneurs as an upcoming band.
Director of concerts in LMS, Ebbe Høyrup, states: "We try to give the students an experience that's more than just music. If they like it or not - well, that's up to yourself, but I keep getting more and more happy about booking Aphyxion for this project since they have a positive approach to their music and development.”
The collaboration is planned down to the last detail when the public school tour begins at the end of October 2015.
"We didn't see it coming," says Michael Vahl of Aphyxion. "But it's gonna be awesome. Besides playing at the schools, which is kinda funny, we're going to work with top professional people, who wants to do this just as much as we do. There's going to be some hard work with the logistics - and it's gonna be hard to play up to three concerts a day. But we will give it a shot!"
Aphyxion has just started recording their new, yet untitled album at Hansen Studios. It will once again be produced by Jacob Hansen and Jonas Haagensen. Their debut album, Earth Entangled, was released in August 2014.
