AS LIONS Frontman AUSTIN DICKINSON Pays Tribute To LEMMY - "He Was One Of A Kind, A Beautiful Soul"
June 12, 2016, 8 years ago
In the clip below, As Lions frontman Austin Dickinson (son of Iron Maiden singer Bruce Dickinson) talks about Motörhead icon Lemmy being honoured at this year's edition of the Download festival in Leicestershire, UK.
Comprised of Dickinson, guitarists Conor O'Keefe and Will Homer, bassist Stefan Whiting, and drummer Dave Fee, As Lions formed in late 2014. The band have released a lyric video for their single, “White Flags”, from their upcoming (TBA) Better Noise Records debut, slated for a 2016 release.
Cultivating inspiration from bands that encompass a wide range of rock and metal (Muse, 30 Seconds To Mars, Bring Me The Horizon), fans can expect an all-encompassing record that will fuel headbanging and encourage crowd sing-a-longs. This was witnessed in full when As Lions performed at the legendary Wembley SSE Arena alongside Five Finger Death Punch on November 28, 2015 to celebrate their new label home and upcoming debut album.
Better Noise Records is Eleven Seven Music Group's new avenue for exciting rock artists such as Escape The Fate and Apocalyptica, and is included in the group's distribution deal with RED/Sony in the US, ADA in the EU, Sony in Australia, Southeast Asia and South America, as well as Universal in Canada and Japan.
Label owner and founder Allen Kovac adds: "I've been looking for a project to work on with Craig and the team over at Raw Power Management as I admire the work they accomplished with Of Mice & Men and Bring Me The Horizon. Austin Dickinson and As Lions have given us this opportunity, blowing us away with his unique voice and dynamic live performance."
Five Finger Death Punch and Shinedown are partnering to co-headline the biggest fall arena rock tour of 2016, along with special guests Sixx:A.M. and As Lions. This epic trek kicks off on October 18th in Little Rock, AR, and crisscrosses North America through December. See tour dates below; more shows will be announced soon.
The bands have partnered to donate $1 from each ticket sold on the tour to four hand-picked charitable organizations close to their hearts: Five Finger Death Punch chose the Badge of Honor Memorial Foundation, Shinedown selected MusiCares, Sixx:A.M. will support Jada Pinkett Smith's Anti-Human Trafficking organization Don't Sell Bodies, and As Lions will donate to Make A Wish America. In addition to the $1 donation per ticket, the bands have teamed up with Crowdrise to give fans the option to enter for the chance to win VIP tickets plus a Meet & Greet by choosing to donate an additional $5 at the time of purchase. Fans who don't live in one of the cities on the tour, but would still like to support the efforts, can visit Crowdrise to donate $5 and be entered for a chance to win a flyaway to the show of their choice plus a Meet & Greet with all four bands.
