Aussie Suburb Could See Street Named After Legendary AC/DC Singer Bon Scott

According to Abc.net.au, residents in a new Canberra suburb could soon be living in a street named after AC/DC frontman Bon Scott.

The ACT Government today announced that streets in the Gungahlin suburb of Moncrieff would be named in honour of Australia's music history.

The announcement abides by one of the ACT's oldest policies - first raised in 1927 - that street names in Canberra suburbs should follow a theme.

Roads Minister Mick Gentleman said it was only fitting that Moncrieff featured artists' names.

Bon Scott was born in Forfar and lived in Kirriemuir, Scotland, for five years before moving to Melbourne, Australia, with his family in 1952 at the age of six. The family lived in the suburb of Sunshine for four years before moving to Fremantle, Western Australia. He died February 19th, 1980 after leaving an incredible legacy fronting AC/DC up to 1979’s Highway To Hell.
