Australia's NE OBLIVISCARIS Gearing Up For First Ever North American Tour Supporting CRADLE OF FILTH - "It Demands Respect And A Decent Lathering Of Humility"

Australian Music Network recently spoke with Ne Obliviscaris frontman Xen about the band's upcoming North American tour supporting Cradle Of Filth alongside Butcher Babies, live shows, songwriting, and death. An excerpt from the interview is available below.

AMN: You have mentioned in several interviews that touring with Cradle, who are veterans within their field, has in ways been very educational for Ne Obliviscaris. Can you perhaps name some examples of what you’ll be taking with you for future tours?

Xen: "Well, when you tour with a band that’s been around for 23 odd years, regardless of who you are, it demands respect and decent lathering of humility. When you see them soundcheck for an hour or so and then perform for 2 hours every single day, you’ll understand their incredible endurance, and focused work ethic. I think we’re going into this tour with a more conscientious attitude, since there’s more shows including some headline ones, the drives are far greater overall and we’ve less time off…this will be our real test."

AMN: During the European leg of this tour, you’ve been running with largely the same setlist, apart from last-minute changes if you had more stage time than anticipated. Do you think you will be switching up some of the tracks for your sets in the States?

Xen: "We may actually change a few songs around, depending if we get more stage time as you’ve mentioned. Clearly our issue is our long songs which don’t allow a great deal of flexibility for what we play, but we do like to keep things interesting, and it’s always good when fans follow you around to different shows, and are surprised that we’ve changed the set…a small reward I guess."
