BANGERTV – D.O.A.’s Joey “Shithead” Keithly To Join Lock Horns This Thursday

BangerTV, the all-metal YouTube channel from Banger Films, welcomes Joey 'Shithead' Keithley of D.O.A. to its weekly live stream show, Lock Horns. Host Sam Dunn will be sitting down with the legendary hardcore singer, author and activist for a 30-minute live interview. Fans from around the world are encouraged to join the broadcast and submit their questions for Joey to answer in real time.

D.O.A. are Canadian punk pioneers who've been shaking things up for almost four decades. From their first single "Disco Sucks" on their own Sudden Death Records in 1978, they've flown the flag for DIY music and preached that "Talk - Action = Zero." Joey is credited with coining the term "hardcore" on their landmark album Hardcore 81. He's also the author of two books, including I Shithead: A Life In Punk and lifelong activist who has organized countless benefit concerts and protests, and recently ran for the Green Party in the band's home province of British Columbia. The band's latest video, "Fucked Up Donald" has a few pointed words for the American Republican candidate and you can be sure Joey will not hold back on talking about that.

Sam and Joey will discuss various topics such as the origins and evolution of hardcore, the legacy and future for D.O.A. and, of course, the role of politics in music and life. Fans tuning in live can submit their questions for Joey via YouTube chat. Lock Horns will be streaming live Thursday, June 23rd at 5 PM on YouTube.
