BEAUTIFUL CREATURES Water "Not A Pot Shot" At Former Guitarist DJ ASHBA

On August 14th, Beautiful Creatures guitarist Alex Grossi and bassist Kenny Kweens appeared on The Morning Blend on KTNV Channel 13 in Las Vegas, Nevada to promote their first show in "Sin City" in over a decade - which took place August 19th at Count's Vamp'd - with Faster Pussycat (see the video below).

During the broadcast, the pair can be seen holding Beautiful Creatures water bottles. Fans immediately noticed and started asking if this was meant as a pot shot at former Beautiful Creatures guitarist DJ Ashba, who currently plays in Sixx:A.M., and his recent launch of Ashba Water.

Speaking exclusively to Brave Words scribe Aaron Small, BC guitarist Alex Grossi sets the record straight:

"The irony is, months ago - Kenny Kweens and myself were slated to do a live chat via the new Beautiful Creatures Facebook page to announce our first show back in over 10 years, and the release of Deuce Deluxe. I was in LA doing a session that ran late that night, so I never actually made it over to the shoot - which left Kenny doing it solo. As a joke, he put a Creatures sticker on the bottle of water he was drinking (probably out of boredom waiting for me) and ended up making a quip about how we were going to start selling 'BC water.' A few weeks later, we actually read online that DJ (Ashba) really WAS selling water."

"At the end of the day, you do need to stay hydrated out here in Las Vegas, so, actually DJ IS definitely onto something."

"Kenny and I appearing on our recent ABC13 interview with 'Beautiful Creatures Water' was not meant to be a 'Pot Shot' in anyway at all - we just thought it would be funny to keep the gag going while we were making the press rounds promoting the new album and our Las Vegas show this past Saturday (which ended up selling out over capacity)."

"The bottom line is, with music being pirated and devalued more and more by the minute, if you have a viable brand, I personally say go for it. We are all huge KISS fans, and they will put their name on anything, no matter how ridiculous."

"The nice thing is the fans are still coming out and with the new version of Deuce being released, along with songs off that record still getting attention through Sons Of Anarchy and other major TV and movie placements we have been fortunate enough to get in the past few years, the band has really gotten a second wind. We will have a couple big announcements coming before the year's end!"
