November 18, 2016, 8 years ago
On November 27th, Bloody Times will release the debut album, The Fire Of Immortality, as download and streaming via on iTunes, Spotify, Amazon, Deezer, Groove, Google Play Music and as direct download from bloodytimes.net..
Bloody Times is a heavy metal project by 23-year-old songwriter and bassist Simon Pfundstein. He created several songs and recorded demos all alone until early 2016, influenced by his favorite bands Manowar, Iced Earth, Running Wild, Savatage, Judas Priest and other classics.
Ready to move on, he wanted to make more than a demo album and decided to look for a drummer capable of giving the songs their full potential. The choice was Raphael Saini from Brazil, who already played and recorded with Iced Earth (on Plagues Of Babylon), Visions Of Atlantis, Chaoswave and many more. Raphael stepped in as session drummer and recorded the drums for the album The Fire Of Immortality at the Bateras Beat Studio in Italy.
To make the album real, Simon not only played bass, but also trained a lot and did the guitars and recorded the vocals on the album. Therefore, he modified his home and created his own temporary studio, recording it with digital equipment in Germany.
Back in Italy, Marco Cossu did the reamping of the guitars and bass to ensure the best possible sound, then mixed and mastered the tracks.
As outcome, the world has to face eight new tracks of classic heavy metal, made with heart, soul and sweat, sounding raw and kind of 'back into 80’s metal'.
The motivation and purpose of doing this album was to pay tribute to classic heavy metal, and of course to continue and contribute to its existence. Simon dedicated it to his parents, who introduced him into metal music as young boy, and he dedicated it to Manowar and all former members, for many albums and years of true metal.
As Manowar-fans probably can see, the album cover (which was created by a very talented Manowar fan, by the way) reflects this dedication and the spirit of heavy metal very well. Furthermore the songs carry this spirit, as the stories are about the end time, about war and destruction, about darkness, sadness or a curse. Best example is “Pursuit Of Destruction”, a fictional song about the next and last global war on earth, that ends in total elimination of all life.
