BMG Buys Metal Label Rise Records
May 18, 2015, 9 years ago
BMG has announced the purchase of Oregon-based metal and hard rock label Rise Records, reports Billboard.com. The label, which was founded by Craig Ericson in 1991, is home to The Devil Wears Prada, Of Mice & Men, and Memphis May Fire.
Under the deal, Rise will continue to operate out of Portland with Ericson at the helm of the digital-savvy company, but now the label will have BMG's resources for pushing its artists beyond The US, where it currently generates the vast majority of its revenue. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.
The label's next release is I Am Alive In Everything I Touch, out May 19th from Canada's own Silverstein.
