Foundation, the second album from Brazilian band Hatematter, is available online on musical platforms such as Spotify, Soundcloud, Deezer and Google Play. A full stream can be found below.
According to bass player André Martins, “After some setbacks, Foundation is finally available and I’m rather proud with the results; this new work shows a growth on songwriting without losing our melodic death metal with Swedish influences characteristic of our first album.”
“All conceptual part and caring about lyrics and illustrations were thought so the material could provide a fulfilling experience to who is listening. Now I’ll do everything I can to take this music to the stage”, he adds. The album is partially based on the classic Foundation trilogy by Isaac Asimov – voted in 1966 the best Fantasy/Science-Fiction series of all time. The lyrics of the songs were written by lyricist Thiago Ribeiro, who made sure the adaptation was as accurate as possible to the story created by Isaac Asimov.
Foundation was recorded at Norcal Studios in Sao Paulo, Brazil, with American producer Brendan Duffey and the cover was made by illustrator Harald Stricker. The art depicts the plot central character: Hari Seldon, creator of Psychohistory.
