Sadly, Brighton Rock's stage manager Dan Melanson (brother of vocalist Gerry McGhee) passed away earlier today, June 9th.
"It is with a very heavy heart that I write this post to let you know my little brother Dan passed away this morning at Jurvinski Hospital," writes Brighton Rock frontman Gerry McGhee. "The girls and I want to thank you all very much for your kind words and gracious prayers. I read each and every one to Dan the last few weeks and he had nothing but love for you all. Visitation is at Bay Gardens Funeral Home on Rymal Road in Hamilton on Monday June 13th from 1pm - 3pm with a small service in the chapel to follow to celebrate Dan's life and everyone is welcome to attend, heaven just got brighter and the world a little colder. Once again thank you so much and God bless each of you... am I not my brothers keeper? Yes I am ❤️."
Brighton Rock guitarist Greg Fraser has also commented on Dan's passing: "Brighton Rock first got together around 1984. Gerry our singer suggested his brother Danny as stage manager. We chased our dreams of becoming 'Rock Stars' & for nearly 10 years we were brothers in arms. Danny stood on my side of the stage for almost every gig we ever did. The bigger we got, the bigger the pressure was & knowing Danny was there always calmed us because we knew everything was taken care of. We really could not have did it without him. Today Danny passed away. He fought the the good fight & we will truly miss him with all our hearts. God rest your soul Danny Melanson. You will never be forgotten. You were one of the good guys."
