BURIED ABOVE GROUND Premier NSFW Music Video For “The Evil One”

Minneapolis, MN death metal band, Buried Above Ground, recently released their new full-length album, Birth, to the masses. This past Friday, the band re-released the album as a deluxe edition with 10 extra minutes of music. You can order the deluxe edition via their merch store, and stream the entire deluxe edition of the album for a limited time via the YouTube video below.

In support of the Birth deluxe edition release, Buried Above Ground's brand new, terrifyingly sinful music video for the single "The Evil One”, can be seen below. This video is NSFW - be warned!

"The Evil One" video was directed by Jake Woodbridge, with cinematography credited to Anthony Cousins and lighting coordination by Sam Goldberger. The video was filmed in the abandoned basement of a former brewery in St. Paul, MN.

"Basically the lesson here is... humans make terrible pets," jests guitarist DJ Gunnarson. "We are extremely grateful for the work Jake and his team did in bringing this video to life. We had a loose concept in mind, and they really helped shape it into the video it is now."

Much like "The Evil One", Buried Above Ground's new album Birth is a dark and heavy emotional ride, not devoid of horror and evil. Check out the band's first music video from the record, "I Am God", which has already tallied nearly 60,000 views:

The members of Buried Above Ground initially met while in college at McNally Smith College of Music in St. Paul, MN. Guitarist DJ Gunnarson - who co-wrote the album Manticore and Other Horrors by Cradle of Filth and was also a founding member of the band Ghost Bath - initially approached vocalist Eric McMahon about starting a band.  The two created the band Thee Massacre and immediately released an album and started touring.  While out on tour, DJ and Eric met drummer Sam Flach and bassist Coz, who played their respective instruments in a band called Thira. A short time after the tour, the two bands decided to merge some of its members to create the current incarnation of Buried Above Ground.

Since forming, Buried Above Ground has shared the stage with bands such as Behemoth, Thy Art is Murder, Goatwhore, Fallujah, Dying Fetus, Carnifex, Within The Ruins, Last Ten Seconds of Life, The Faceless and more.

Stay tuned for more coming from Buried Above Ground soon.
