Calgary Venue Shoots Back At VOLBEAT, ANTHRAX - “The Stage Equipment Was Cleared By Their People”

Volbeat and Anthrax were forced to cancel their May 4th show in Calgary, AB at the Calgary Stampede Corral because the “building infrastructure was not adequate to support the requirements of the show.”
Today the venue has shot back. Kurt Kadatz, director of community engagement and communication tells Calgaryherald.com that the stage equipment had been set up, inspected and cleared by their people.
“To be clear, the Stampede did not make the decision to cancel the concert,” Kadatz said Monday.“We were ready to host a safe a successful concert last night with an equipment load that was safe and approved, and the decision was made outside of the Stampede not to go ahead with the concert.”

Volbeat issued the following cancellation message to fans: "It was determined by the building engineer that the building infrastructure was not adequate to support the requirements of the show. In order to ensure the safety of the fans and band, it was decided by the building not to proceed with the show in this building at this time. Volbeat are disappointed that the show can not go on as scheduled and expect to return at a future date. Ticket refunds will be available at the point of purchase beginning May 4th at 10am.”
